Key requirements

University degree in Water, Civil, Environmental or Hydrology Engineering
At least three years’ relevant WASH and Shelter project experience
Fluent spoken and written English
Knowledge of the Jowhar/Middle Shabelle context
Knowledge of Somali
Hands-on Shelter/WASH infrastructure experience, including hydraulic design and borehole supervision
Knowledge of AutoCAD, WaterCAD or civil works design softwarePreferred

Main responsibilities

Lead infrastructure assessments, engineering designs and construction supervision
Develop climate-resilient and flood-adaptive engineering solutions
Manage construction quality and compliance with specifications and standards
Prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation
Manage civil works tenders, contracts and contractor assessments
Build staff, contractor and community capacity through training and mentoring
