ZitTalent should work for everyone who wants to build a career: on a small phone or a big screen, with a keyboard or a screen reader, in English or Somali. This page explains what we do, what is not perfect yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
1.Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the international standard for accessible websites.
2.What we do
- The site works on screens from 320 pixels wide (small phones) to large monitors, and on tablets, without sideways scrolling.
- You can zoom text to 200% in your browser.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Buttons, links and form fields have names that screen readers read out, and pictures that carry meaning have text alternatives.
- Text colours meet the contrast guidelines.
- On phones, buttons and links are large enough to tap, and form fields use 16-pixel text so the page does not zoom in.
- Animations stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Everything is available in English and Somali, in plain words.
3.How we check
We test the main pages with automatic tools (Google Lighthouse gives them an accessibility score of 100), by using the site with a keyboard only, and by checking every main page on 13 screen sizes, from small phones to large monitors, in both languages.
4.What is not perfect yet
- The small previews of CV and letter designs are pictures of example documents. Screen readers read each design's name, not the example text inside it.
- Scanned PDF CVs (photos of paper) contain no text, so the CV builder cannot read them. Upload a Word file or paste your text instead.
- The official scholarship websites we link to are run by other organisations, and some may be harder to use.
5.Tell us about a problem
If something on ZitTalent is hard to use, email support@zittalent.com and tell us the page and what happened. We will reply, and where we can, fix it or give you the information another way.
